Building Inquiry-Driven Classrooms for the Age of AI

The Socrates Institute helps educators cultivate curious thinkers, confident learners, and responsible users of artificial intelligence through professional development, classroom implementation, and Socrates Coach.

Why Pilot

Investing in professional development without a clear implementation path often leads to isolated workshops and limited classroom impact. Our pilot model bridges the gap between teacher learning and classroom practice.

Teacher Learning
Classroom Implementation

We move beyond one-off sessions to provide a structured journey where educators gain the confidence to redesign inquiry-rich learning experiences.

Our model ensures that professional learning is directly applied through classroom coaching and evidence collection before broader adoption.

Coaching & Reflection

By integrating reflection and feedback tools, we help educators identify implementation challenges and refine their practice for long-term success.

Scale Planning

Our evidence-based approach provides the data needed to make informed decisions about scaling inquiry-based teaching across the entire school.

The Pilot Model

A six-stage journey from leadership alignment to scale planning, designed to ensure a thoughtful and evidence-informed transformation of teaching and learning.

01
Leadership Alignment

Define goals, scope, participating teachers, timelines, technology considerations, and success measures.

04
Classroom Implementation

Teachers implement selected learning experiences with coaching and support.

02
Teacher Foundations

Deliver the foundational Teaching for Inquiry in the Age of AI workshop.

05
Reflection and Evidence

Collect teacher reflections, student feedback, classroom artifacts, and implementation insights.

03
Lesson Design

Help teachers redesign selected lessons or units using inquiry principles and Socrates Coach.

06
Outcomes and Scale Planning

Review findings with school leadership and recommend next steps.

Who Should Participate

The Ideal Cohort

We recommend a pilot cohort of 3 to 10 educators. This small group allows for deep inquiry and meaningful reflection, ensuring that every participant can contribute to the collective learning journey.

Leadership Involvement

Successful implementation requires a dedicated sponsor and a pilot coordinator. These roles are essential for aligning leadership goals with classroom practice and ensuring the project remains on track.

Teacher Readiness

Teachers must be open to redesigning their pedagogy and using AI as a thinking partner. A willingness to reflect on practice and provide honest feedback is critical to the success of the pilot.

Technology Requirements

Access to devices and a stable network is required for Socrates Coach implementation. Schools should also have a clear AI policy in place to ensure responsible and ethical use.

Pilot Implementation Timeline
